I have been using cloth diapers for about four and half months now and I have to say that I like it. It is working for us. I will have to say that it also has been work for us. I have done a lot of reading about cloth diapering, deciding what kind of diaper to use, how to wash them and what kind of detergent to use. Every time I think I have it down pat there is something that throws the hole operation out of whack. With that being said the Internet has been my friend for finding out information about cloth diapers. I have wished that there was someone or organization that was local that could help me and answer my questions and let me see a large variety of cloth diapers. I like to touch before I buy so having lots to choose from would make me feel more comfortable in my purchase. I have not found it. With that being said I have played around with the idea of opening a business that sold cloth diapers and that would be a resource for moms. Maybe have some classes, but simply to have a large variety of cloth diapers and be able to set up appointments when moms can see, touch try diapers. It is in the works.
For right now I simply am learning about diapers myself and when I can I share. I show and tell when ever someone ask or wants to see. My little one is wearing just a diaper most of the time letting everyone see what he has on. This makes it very easy for diaper changes and he is cool on these very hot days. So for anyone who thinks they might want to cloth diaper I say go for it and give it a try you will be surprised how easy it is and how much you like it.

Wow, cloth diapers. It must be a lot of work! But environmentally friendly! I don't know if I could handle washing out what my 2 year old is capable of..
ReplyDeleteMommy Mambo--I have an almost 2 year old and it's no big deal! Dump the yuck in the toilet (you can even get a sprayer to wash it out!) and on laundry day put the dipes in the washer. It does all the work!
ReplyDeleteI love your business idea! It is so important to touch cloth diapers before buying. I actually met a woman in my area who started a local cloth diapering business for the exact same reason. What cloth diapers do you use with your baby?
